HBO is reportedly hunting down the Reddit user who leaked the House of Dragon synopses
It’s no secret that Game of Thrones was one of the most pirated shows in television history. So it’s no surprise that people are already searching for leaks from its successor. A Reddit user has already shared the summaries for each episode of House of the Dragon and HBO is currently on the hunt for the leaker of the synopses.
Reddit has always been the place to go if you were looking for leaks on your favorite shows and Game of Thrones was certainly a popular series that people wanted to learn about every week. So it’s no surprise that several Reddit users dedicated their time to searching for and sharing leaked information from the HBO show regularly. But now that Game of Thrones is over, people have turned their attention to House of the Dragon.
A Reddit user recently shared all of the House of the Dragon episode synopses which seem to reveal everything that would happen in the series. It didn’t take long before their account was suspended, prompting the user to create a new one just to declare that their credibility had been confirmed by the strike. This led to the second account being suspended as well.
The suspension should be enough to confirm that HBO is taking all the necessary steps to prevent leaks. However, Torrentfreak reports that the network is taking things even further by sending multiple DCMA notices to Reddit demanding that the posts be taken down. In addition to that, HBO filed several documents at a court in California which would require Reddit to hand over the details of alleged infringers.
It may sound extreme but HBO isn’t taking any chances with leaks or piracy at this point. With that in mind, we’re intrigued and we can’t wait to see what happens in House of the Dragon.
House of the Dragon premieres on HBO on August 21, 2022.
