Why is Lena Headey so good as Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones? I’ll go over the main reason she’s doing well and how you can apply it to your work as an actor. (I assume you’re caught up through Season 6 of Game of Thrones… but if not, there are Season 6 spoilers in this)
The reason why Lena Headey is so great lies in how she views the characters she plays. I think it’s a safe bet to say that when Lena Headey is acting, she does not view Cersei Lannister in the same way you do watching Game of Thrones.
Cersei Lannister is the character everyone loves to hate, especially now that she is the queen. However, if you had to play Queen Cersei Lannister, you would have to move past any judgement you have for her, in the same way Lena Headey does. In this video I’ll go over how to do that.

๐ธ ACTING STUFF ๐ธ
If you are a beginner, I recommend reading the following books on acting. You really need to be in a live class to learn acting skills, but these books will give you the foundation you need to be great when you get into a class. award
A Challenge for the Actor by Uta Hagen:
Fine on Acting by Howard Fine:
The Actor and the Target by Declan Donnellan:
The books above do a great job of updating Stanislavski’s system (or method) and helping actors avoid common pitfalls.
It’s important to read Stanislavski’s work, so you have an idea of where modern acting technique comes from. However, don’t stop there. I would definitely give at least one of the acting technique books above a read as well.

Acting: The First Six Lessons by Richard Boleslavsky
Boleslavsky taught Stanislavski’s work to the Group Theatre bunch… The Group Theatre is responsible for Method Actings rise in the United States. You should recognize some of their members: Lee Strasberg, Sanford Meisner, Stella Adler, Elia Kazan and Harold Clurman.

the scene where cersei tells tywin about her and jaime, and then she tells jaime that she told tywin about them, lena was flawless.ย dont know how she hasnt won an emmy for best female lead yet.ย the past 2 seasons havent really given her any great dialogue such as the first 5 seasons, but she acts her butt off in every scene.
lena is a very good actress, and is very good as cersei.ย cersei has her own posture, her own way of walking, her way of articulating.
That thumbnail tho…
I wanna know what you think about Emilia Clarke's portrayal of Daenerys ๐
Here's one actor I'd like to see what you think of: John Ritter as Jack Tripper from THREE'S COMPANY.
Love this! And thanks for the shoutout. Can't wait to see more.

Can you cover Nicole Kidman in Big Little Lies? I watched the entire season recently and was so incredibly drawn in by her in this. I literally believed her to be the character she was (if that makes sense. for example, Reese Witherspoon in that series is believable too but I always perceive her still as Reese first, you know? whereas, Nicole became that character in my mind)
