Kit Harington and Rose Leslie are 'engaged', making our Game of Thrones dreams come true

Don’t panic, there is still hope when it comes to your Game of Throne fantasies – or maybe not with Kit Harington.

Olivia Attwood told Chris Hughes she wanted to marry him days before ‘club bust-up’

Kit Harington is reportedly engaged to his girlfriend and former co-star Rose Leslie.

It’s great to see their real-life romance is working out better than what we were offered on screen.

The actors, who allegedly got engaged over the summer but then denied those claims, met on the set of the hit HBO show back in 2012.

They are yet to set a date but are thought to have told friends and family.

A source told The Sun: ‘They’re yet to set a date, but told friends and family last week that they’ve got engaged.

‘Kit’s known for ages he’s wanted to marry Rose but he wanted them to get a house and settle down a bit first.’

Kit, who plays Jon Snow and Rose’s love interest in the show, recently revealed that they had finally moved in together after five good years of dating, having bought a £1.75 million house in East Anglia.

In June, the Gunpowder star told James Corden that he had moved out of his home with his best friend to live with his on-screen and off-screen lover.

‘I’ve moved in with my other best friend Rose, so I’m very happy,’ he said about Rose who played the now-deceased Ygritte. ‘It’s going well, so she’s got all sorts of ideas for the house.’

He added: ‘I said to her, cause she’s moved into my house, “Look darling, it’s important that this is our space. That it feels like our space. That you haven’t just moved into mine. Move anything you want around, change anything, chuck anything out”.’

Even though the happy couple kept their relationship a total secret for years, Kit now can’t stop talking about his girlfriend in interviews.

Talking about the moment he fell for Leslie, he said: ‘The three weeks in Iceland when we were shooting the second season. Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love.

‘If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love.’

These reports of a summer wedding come after reps denied to Metro.co.uk that pair got engaged in July.

Awkwardly though, the couple have rubbished reports from publications that said the actor popped the question, as a rep for Kit told Metro.co.uk loud and clear that: ‘They are not engaged.’

Kit is currently gearing up to film the final season of Game of Thrones (did he actually get Daenery preggers or that just another fan theory?) and is playing Robert Catesby in the forthcoming BBC One drama Gunpowder.

Rose is currently starring in the TV show The Good Fight.

Metro.co.uk have contacted reps for Rose and Kit for comment.
