It’s been over three months since we waved goodbye to Game of Thrones and it seems like the controversial final series is still a point of contention for many fans.

And now, Kit Harington, who played Jon Snow in the series, has admitted that one part of the final series didn’t sit well with him: Arya Stark’s killing of the leader of the White Walkers.

‘I was a bit pissed off, only because I wanted to kill the Night King,’ the 32-year-old actor told The Hollywood Reporter, in a statement that we’re sure many GoT fans would echo.

‘I think I felt like everyone else did, in that it had been set up for a long time, and then I didn’t get to do it,’ he added. ‘I was secretly like, “I wanted to do that!”’

However, the star was keen to clarify that he had no hard feelings about the plot decision.

‘I was so happy for Maisie [Williams] and Arya,’ Kit said.

‘It was a really great twist, and it tied up Maisie’s journey in a really beautiful way.

‘Over the seasons, we’ve seen her build up these skills to become this hardened assassin, and she uses it all to kill our main antagonist.’

Ever the diplomat, eh Kit?

While the cast of HBO’s x-rated fantasy juggernaut have sung the praises of the show’s final series, their fans have been less kind.

So much so, that a petition demanding that the eighth instalment be remade with ‘competent writers’ has been signed more than 1.7 million times. Ouch…

However, the cast have criticised this online campaign and the backlash against the final series, suggesting that the fans were not entitled to just demand the show be remade.

‘I think it’s totally fine if you don’t like something. That’s perfectly acceptable,’ Nathalie Emmanuel, who played Missandei, said.

‘What I didn’t like was that people were signing a petition.

‘You can’t ask for receipts on art. You just can’t. The art has been created for you, and you can either choose to like it or not.’
