Kit Harington has claimed that sexual harassment is ‘everywhere’ in the acting world and Hollywood – and had heard stories for years before the Me Too movement gained traction.

The Game of Thrones actor, 31, spoke about the current situation in the movie industry following numerous accusations as part of the Time’s Up and Me Too stands.

He also recognised his knowledge of rumours within the UK theatre industry, including the accusations made against Kevin Spacey, who was a patron of London’s Old Vic Theatre.

Speaking to the Sydney Morning Herald in Australia, he said:  ‘The Weinstein scandal kicked it off over the pond as well. Kevin Spacey was the head of the Old Vic for many years – we’re discovering the allegations made against him.

‘Within British theatre, there’s been a problem for many years. This is something that has been going on forever, and not just in the States. It’s everywhere.’

‘It’s upsetting and disturbing, but it’s not shocking,’ he added. ‘I think most actors hear stories, and people in the industry hear stories.’

‘It’s just very hard for people to come out and talk about it.’

‘But the doors have been blown open a bit, and we can only be thankful for that,’ he concluded.

The star has been working on the final season of Game of Thrones – in which his character Jon Snow plays an integral role.

He is also set to marry his long-term girlfriend and former co-star, Rose Leslie – and the pair have reportedly booked band Mumford and Sons to play the wedding.

The couple, who are reportedly tying-the-knot in Aberdeen in the near future, are said to be huge fans – and it just so happens that Marcus Mumford and his pals are equally big fans of the couple.

‘Kit and Rosie are huge fans, so they jumped at the opportunity to get Mumford & Sons to perform at their wedding,’ a source told The Sun.

‘Kit met the boys on Graham Norton’s show in 2015 and he’s kept in touch with them ever since. ‘

He was thrilled when the band agreed. They can’t wait either. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime gig given the very Game Of Thrones setting.’

We hope no one will be requesting The Rains of Castamere, because we all know what happened the last time that was played at a wedding…
