HBO’s A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, the latest Game of Thrones spin-off based on George R.R. Martin’s Dunk and Egg novellas, has been creating a lot of excitement. Episode 4, titled Seven, released in early February 2026, has especially stood out. The episode currently holds an impressive 9.7 rating on IMDb, largely because of its emotional storytelling and strong character moments.
A lot of moments from A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms have stood out for the fans yet. However knowing which are the showrunner’s personal favourites was a point of curiosity for them.
In a recent Reddit AMA (Ask Me Anything), held by HBO, Ira Parker answered multiple fan questions. Answering two of the questions, he shared which scenes meant the most to him.
Quick read:
• Ira Parker answered fan questions during recent Reddit AMA
• He revealed his favourite scene from the series is when Dunk teaches egg how to sew
• His most memorable moment to shoot was Dunk’s episode 4 speech
Favourite scene from the series
Parker revealed that his favorite scene overall is the simple moment where Dunk teaches Egg how to sew in episode 3. The scene takes place before Dunk takes egg to watch the jousting between Aerion Targaryen and Ser Humfrey Hardyng. As he shows Egg how to mend clothes, the moment quietly reflects care and mentorship. Parker said this scene stood out for him, slightly beating the Baratheon tent scene as his top choice. The Baratheon tent scene refers to the first time Dunk meets Lyonel Baratheon and they dance their way through the night and share an insightful conversation.
Most memorable scene to shoot
When it came to filming, Parker’s favorite scene to shoot was Peter Claffey delivering Dunk’s speech of “Are there no true knights among you?” This scene comes during episode 4 of the show, when Dunk is challenged for a Trial of Seven by Aerion. Falling one knight short, Dunk is left with no choice but to request someone from the audience to come join his team. He does so by giving an impactful speech to the audience where the above statement gets mentioned. It is not long after this speech that Prince Baelor decides to fight from Dunk’s side.
Even though Parker’s answers were one-liners, fans could totally relate to him because of the emotional depth of both these scenes.
