Maisie Williams has opened up on the Game Of Thrones scene, which she says left her ‘broken as a human.’
The 21-year-old, who plays Arya Stark in the fantasy saga, revealed that she was thrown in at the deep end when taking part in one of the show’s final battle scenes.
It’s said that the fight for Westeros is going to be one of the longest sequences ever to play out in the HBO epic.
And while we can’t wait to see what the creators have up their sleeves, it seems Maisie couldn’t wait for filming to end.
While chatting to Entertainment Weekly, the actress confessed that she didn’t believe director Miguel Sapochnik when he tried to explain to her just how much work goes into making a battle.
The star told the publication: ‘I skip the battle every year, which is bizarre since Arya’s the one who’s been training the most.
‘This is my first taste of it. And I’ve been thrown in at the deep end.’
Describing what takes place during the production, she added: ‘Nothing can prepare you for how physically draining it is. It’s night after night, and again and again, and it just doesn’t stop.
‘You can’t get sick, and you have to look out for yourself because there’s so much to do that nobody else can do.’
Maisie confessed: ‘There are moments you’re just broken as a human and just want to cry.’
While the cast and crew are remaining tight lipped over what’s to come in the final season, HBO dropped a short clip of an upcoming episode when advertising their channel.
Here, Arya can be seen almost mesmerised as she stares into the sky.
While transfixed on what’s going on above her, the trailer jumps to a shot of one of Daenerys’ dragons flying overhead causing the young Stark to crack a smile.
The footage itself points to a scene showing armies arriving into Winterfell, possibly explaining why Arya looks so pleased to have the support from a huge dragon.
A closing shot also shows The Wall falling down from a seemingly different angle than the season seven finale, indicating it could be the reverse side of Viserion’s destruction.
Game Of Thrones season eight kicks off 14 April 2019.
