Sophie Turner recently tied the knot with Joe Jonas at an intimate ceremony with her close friends and family.
And while enjoying her newly wed bliss, the star gave us all a glimpse at her wedding ring when taking to her Instagram story.
When out drinking on her honeymoon, the 23-year-old waved her rock in front of the camera as she gave a shout out to the US footballer Alex Morgan for ‘sipping the tea.’
The sportswoman caused outrage when she made a ‘tea-drinking’ gesture after scoring against England in the Women’s World Cup.
But Sophie joked about the taunt being a nod in her direction, after all, the Game Of Thrones star does close off a number of her social media clips with ‘and that’s the tea.’
Beaming down the lens, the actress laughed: ‘OK, I’m on my honeymoon, I’m not really looking at my phone much but I feel like this deserves a mention.
‘Unfortunately, the UK women’s football team lost at the World Cup, and of course I’m incredibly sad and incredibly proud of that team.
‘But I am so honored that we lost to such an incredible team, the U.S. women’s football team.’
She paused for a moment, as she smirked: ‘Alex Morgan, all those haters that are saying [the tea sip] was disrespectful, I’m honoured that you thought of me.
‘All those people that are hating on you are probably sitting at home, millennials drinking kombucha.
‘And I’m really f*****g proud of you, Alex Morgan, congratulations on your win. And that’s the m*****f*****g tea.’
Alex recently name dropped Sophie when defending herself over the action.
The 30-year-old said: ‘My celebration was actually more about “that’s the tea” which is telling a story, you know, spreading news,
‘Sophie Turner does it quite often and she’s one of my favourite actresses. It wasn’t a hit to England in any way.’
She added: ‘Secondly, I feel that there is some sort of double standard for females in sports to feel like we have to be humble in our successes and have to celebrate but not too much and have to do something but always in a limited fashion.
‘You see men celebrating all around the world in big tournaments, grabbing their sacks or whatever it is.
‘When I look at sipping a cup of tea I’m a little taken aback and you kind of have to laugh about it when you see all the criticism.’
