Game of Thrones and weddings don’t mix…if you live in Westeros. If you live in our world, they go together beautifully, as newlyweds Ashley and Jon LeFebvre proved at their own Game of Thrones-themed nuptials. This wedding took two years to plan and was photographed by Joe Crawford. It’s seriously impressive stuff, and we thought we’d share some of the images from the event here in case you want inspiration or if you’re still recovering from the Red Wedding all these years later and need to be talked off the ledge.
First, let’s meet the happy couple, including groom Jon (appropriate name, that), seen below on his lonesome…
…and with the members of his Kingsguard:
I don’t know who was wearing this particular Hand of the King/Queen pin, but it’s all about attention to detail:
We also have bride Ashley, resplendent in her wedding dress…
…and with her Queensguard and Hands of the Queen:
And yes, there are a couple of kids in the mix, a squire…
…and a handmaiden:
I’m going to go out on a limb and say this was the best or among the best day of these kids’ lives so far.
And here’s the couple together:
As you can see below, the members of the two houses got along well, although we can’t attest to what happened 30 seconds after this photo was taken. That balcony is awfully high up…
See, now this looks like a Game of Thrones wedding:
Ashley told us that they tried to reference at least three deaths over the course of the day, lest the wedding become a dull affair. Thank goodness.
