Indian skipper Virat Kohli has revealed that Man of the Match in the historic Test series win against Australia – Cheteshwar Pujara – has been named ‘White Walker’, a character from the highly popular TV series Game of Thrones as the Indian captain thinks either fire or a special dagger can kill Pujara. Kohli further said that he doesn’t think that cricket balls are going to damage Pujara and he looks unbeatable at the moment. Pujara was named the Man of the Series for scoring a staggering 521 runs in seven innings at a sensational average of 521 runs.

Kohli went on to heap praises on the Saurashtra batter by saying that he is extremely confident of his own ability and has never questioned the decisions taken by team management. The 30-year-old said that Pujara has worked on his flaws and feedback given by the team management and in return has become a better player.

“We’ve named him ‘White Walker’ from Game of Thrones because there’s only either fire or that special dagger that can kill him. I don’t think bowlers or cricket balls are going to do any damage to him. At the moment, he is unbreakable so we named him White Walker,” Kohli told bcci.tv in a video interview.

“Pujara is one guy, who is very sure of his own ability. He never questioned any of the calls that team management took. He took it in a stride and realised himself that whatever feedback was given to him by the management, there were things that he himself wanted to work on,” the Indian skipper added.

Kohli further praised Pujara for working very hard since being dropped in the Edgbaston Test against England in 2018 and has lauded him to teaching everyone how to be patient.

“The way he has accepted the things to come back in the England series and play like that and Australia after having an okay series last time when we came here. And to bat the way he has speaks volumes of his own conviction about his game,” he said.

Such a historic Test series win and he is the Man Of The Series and deserving so. The patience and the character he has shown is something that we all can learn from. And we definitely learn from. Pujara teaches us how to be patient,” Kohli added.

Meanwhile, India are 1-0 down in the three-match ODI series after suffering a defeat in the first ODI by 34 runs.
