Sebastian Croft made his Celebrity Traitors debut on Thursday, alongside a stellar cast including several household names.

And while this young actor and singer – who instantly gained a lot of attention for his glorious mint green jacket – may be relatively unknown to a lot of the BBC audience, there will be a large proportion of viewers who will be aware of his work.

Sebastian’s start in the Claudia Winkleman-hosted show has been quiet so far, but he certainly isn’t one to be underestimated.

The 24-year-old actor is the second youngest in Ardross Castle, after fellow actor Bella Ramsey, 23, and he could be one to watch, especially considering he’s a big fan of the show and so could be a strong player.

Who is Sebastian Croft?

Sebastian Croft is a British actor and singer, who audiences will likely recognise from Netflix’s stellar coming-of-age drama Heartstopper.

Born in Oxford in December 2001, Sebastian started acting as a child, appearing in stage productions before making his TV debut in 2016.

Since then, he’s racked up plenty of screen credits including BBC drama Dope Girls and 2019 film Horrible Histories: The Movie – Rotten Romans, for which he received a Bafta Children’s Award nomination.

Heartstopper has arguably been his biggest achievement so far, though. He played Ben Hope, a closeted schoolboy who begins the series in a secret relationship with Charlie Spring (Joe Locke), in the teen romance series based on Alice Oseman’s graphic novels.

Ben is very emotionally manipulative, being rude to Charlie when they’re in front of other people and dismissive of his feelings.

Charlie eventually cut ties with Ben, and further down the line Ben apologises to Charlie for his actions, but his attempt to atone comes too late.

Sebastian has also had West End stage roles including in Sam Mendes’ production of Oliver! and in Les Misérables as Gavroche.

He isn’t just an actor, either, and he’s been working on a music career away from the screen.

In 2025, he started releasing music independently, debuting with the single Tokyo, which he revealed was based on a difficult break-up he’d gone through a few years earlier, along with other songs.

He is set to release his debut EP, The Great Forever, in October, taking his fledgling music career to new heights… all the while being on the biggest show on British telly.

Sebastian is also a prominent voice in the LGBTQ+ community.

He identifies as queer and has spoken about the importance of representation, particularly for young people struggling to understand their own identities.

In 2022, he joined forces with fellow actor Connor Jessup to launch Queer Was Always Here, an initiative celebrating LGBTQ+ lives, art and history.

Sebastian Croft’s ‘forgotten’ Game of Thrones role

Long before taking the role of Ben Hope in Heartstopper, Sebastian had a small role in one of the biggest TV shows of a generation, Game of Thrones.

He appeared in the sixth season of the fantasy juggernaut, playing a young Eddard ‘Ned’ Stark.

The character – the head of House Stark, the Lord of Winterfell and Warden of the North – was originally played by Sean Bean, and was one of the most recognisable figures of the series. Sebastian played a young Ned in flashback scenes that explored his childhood in two episodes.

He’s in the Traitors castle now with Game of Thrones Bella Ramsey, who also starred in season six of the show as Lyanna Mormont, the fiercely independent young ruler of Bear Island.

However, they didn’t share any scenes together, but with similar backgrounds and at similar ages, viewers might well speculate that they could team up to take down their elders…

Celebrity Traitors continues on Friday at 8pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
