It was a big night for Fleabag, Jodie Comer, Chernobyl and Ozark at the 71st annual Emmy Awards, which took place in Hollywood on Sunday night.

The Phoebe Waller-Bridge hit took home four prizes in total, including the award for best comedy series – while Phoebe herself won the best actress in a comedy series prize for the BBC Three show.

‘This is just getting ridiculous,’ the actress and writer said at one point.

‘Fleabag started as a one-woman show at Edinburgh Festival in 2014 and the journey has been absolutely mental to get here.’

Jodie Comer also went home with a newly-acquired Emmy, nabbing the best drama actress prize for Killing Eve in what was a big night for British talent, with other homegrown winners including A Very English Scandal’s Ben Whishaw and the interactive Black Mirror episode Bandersnatch.
