Things have been weird at Winterfell for the past few episodes. Arya is bringing her psycho home with her, Sansa’s getting paranoid, and Bran…Bran has his own thing going on.

But tonight, the Stark kids came together for a big moment in the Winterfell Great Hall. Sansa, who’s been worried that Arya was going to try and hurt her for a while now, dragged her sister before her. We thought she was going to order her sister detained or put to death, but she went for Petyr “Littlefinger” Baelish instead.

Thanks to Bran, it seems that the Stark children figured out that Littlefinger was trying to play them against each other — that’s not hard to do when one of your number is the all-knowing Three-Eyed Raven. Littlefinger made his case for survival, but considering everything he’d done — betraying Ned Stark being the most egregious offense — he didn’t have much hope. Sansa sentenced him to death, and Arya carried it out with the dagger Littlefinger himself handed over to Bran back in “The Spoils of War.”

This ends a strange chapter in the history of Stark family relations, and marks the end for one of the series’ great fire-starters.
