Yet another piece of evidence to further prove your theory: In the movie, Colossus asks Deadpool to join the X-Men. In the comics, Deadpool begs to join X-Men and is denied, for obvious reasons. That really bothered me in the movie actually, but with this theory it makes a lot of sense and makes it even funnier.
